At first sight, the Oakley Roof Battle was a regular contest with its usual friendly atmosphere, also having the weather on its side. From a sporting perspective, it was all about the 9.000€ prize money and the final QParks Tour points for the overall tour results. Since the best riders from all across the Alps had qualified, accordingly high was the riding level and the motivation to gain some additional points. “The level was rad, it was really hard to rip off today”, Snowboarder Felix Widnig said. Could he use his lead on points over the contest? Read more in the results. Freeskier Sebastian Mall was stoked about the Superpark Dachstein: “Super park and nice jumps”, and impressed the judges with his kicker skills. Read more in the following.
The judges Andi Lehmann and Teo Ivančič took position on the massive corner with a clear overview of the two qualification runs and the thrilling finals. Eventually, it Noah Victor from Germany was their choice to take the crown for the title. With a score of 85 points, he snatched in 400€ prizemoney and brand-new Oakley goggles. The winner of the groms men category, Till Strohmeyer, also comes from Germany. In the ladies category, Klara Dinold could make use of her Dachstein routine and won 100€ prize money on the first place, as well as goodies from Oakley, Pinetime, Blue Tomato and QParks
Johannes Rohrmoser concluded the QParks Tour, equipped with new, stylish Oakley goggles and a plus of 400€ on his account. He was crowned as the winner of the Oakley Roof Battle and was stoked: “It was a lotta fun and the park at Dachstein glacier is awesome!” Nico Egger (AT) also had enough reason for joy, as he made it to the first place in the groms category. 21-year-old freeski lady Lisi Gram from Tyrol was also standing on the podium, she was the winner of the women’s category of the Oakley Roof Battle.
With 280 tour points in his pockets, Felix Widnig (AT) started into the finals and all other snowboarders didn’t even have a slight chance. He can now call himself overall champ of the QParks Snowboard Tour, honored with a prize money of 800€. On top of it all, he will shred with the pros at this year’s Pleasure Jam via wild card. He will be accompanied by the winners of the groms men category, Bono Krajl Kos from Slovenia, and Emma Lantos from Austria, winner of the women’s category.
There´s one thing you would recon on every single QParks Tour stop: The loyal participation of the freeskiers from the Tyrolean Ski Association. It definitely paid for them, as the overall podiums went to team Tyrol without exception. Sebastian Mall (men), Elias Wechner (groms men) and Tamara Schmid (women) received the title and the glory!
